WAITRESS Sian Hamshaw was picked out as one of the early contenders to get to the Big Brother final by the reality show’s first female winner Kate Lawler.

Both Kate, who won the show in 2002, and former contestant Jon Tickle named Sian when asked by Rylan Clark-Neal on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side to name their early predictions.

Sian, 25, a waitress at Bailey’s, entered the famous house last Friday along with 13 other contestants.

Earlier this week, Sian topped a public vote in which she was given an advantage over the other housemates. Big Brother has told the housemates to collect ‘big coins’ and because Sian had topped the vote, she was given 100 coins to start with.

The three ‘poorest’ housemates will face eviction.

Sian’s cousin Danny Greatorex, 25, said she had been watching the show and thought Sian was holding her own.

“I think she’s doing good. She’s cool, calm and collected, she’s getting on with people and not arguing with them.

“She is just being herself, she’s happy all the time.

“I do think she could win it, because she’s a nice person and a lot of people can relate to her.

“She’s beautiful and kind at the same time. She’s not stuck up or over opinionated or nasty. She’s a genuinely nice northerner.”

Sian is a single mum to her four-year-old son Archie. She has described herself as a morning person and reckons her early morning high energy levels will annoy others.

She said if she could change anything about herself she says she would make herself more intelligent. She has a very sweet tooth and also thinks she will struggle without unlimited chocolate.

Before entering the house, she said: “I’m spontaneous. I’m the type of person to book a holiday on my own and just go and see new things.

I think my family and friends will be really shocked to see me going into the house.

“Hopefully I will be the happy one. Some people get miserable after a few days without anything to do, so hopefully I will think of things to do and uplift people.

“When my friends are down they come to mine and I feed them. I will be the happy housemate.”

Sian said she would probably get on with the housemates who are a a ‘bit extra and wired’ saying: “I am a crazy magnet; I attract crazy people.”

But she’s not fond of people who love themselves and are miserable.

She said her son Archie and food were the two things that she will miss, admitting that she has mayonnaise and gravy on everything and doesn’t eat healthily.

She added: “I don’t think I will win. I don’t want to go out the first week. I will be happy if I can get past the first week.”

Big Brother airs on Channel 5 nightly at 10pm.
