ELDERLY residents on a quiet Barnsley cul-de-sac say their lives are being made a misery by inconsiderate parents parking up to drop off their kids for school.

Those living on Colster Close, Gawber, say parents are parking up outside their home prior to the start and end of the day at Gawber Primary to make sure they get a parking space.

Some residents said their drives have been blocked on occasion, and they claim they are unable to manoeuvre to drive their own cars in and out because of the way some parents park.

They say that traffic sometimes comes to a standstill as motorists battle to get out of the cul-de-sac.

One resident on Colster Close said: “I’ve had abuse from parents. My neighbour was told to stop whinging and get inside and I have been called a nasty old woman.”
