IT has provided a home to a popular boozer, a cracking butcher, and a spicy snack shop for years but soon the concrete block that makes up Kendray Street - home to the Groggers Rest, Charlesworth's Butcher and Munjacks takeaway - is to be reduced to rubble.
Compulsory purchase orders are being obtained by Barnsley Council to speed up work on the £50m redevelopment of the town centre.
Cabinet members are expected to approve the CPOs on ground floor retail units underneath the TEC building on on Wednesday.
