PLANS for a new Taco Bell take-away on the edge of Hoyland Common are moving forward, years after initial planning permission for the project was granted.

The firm has now put detailed proposals for the Mexican restaurant to Barnsley Council which could pave the way for the development to go ahead, if approved.

It occupies part of the site which has already been developed with a new dining pub, warehousing and another take-away, with the overall development called Gateway 36.

The land was part of the old Rockingham Colliery and has been awaiting redevelopment for many years, since the Dearne Valley Parkway was built to open up the area.
