Penistone Church came from behind to beat Houghton Main 3-1 in an all-Barnsley final of the County Senior League Cup at Sandy Lane in Worksop on Thursday night.

Left-back Kieran Hirst headed Houghton in front on 14 minutes but Church were level within seconds as Mark Crossfield fired home while Main were appealing for a foul on captain Daniel Monfredi.

Lewis Dickinson then put Penistone 2-1 up on 30 minutes when beat the offside trap and lobbed goalkeeper Sam Leigh. Centre-back John Whitehead tapped in from three yards out early in the second half to secure the win.

Houghton played well in the final half an hour and substitute Shaun Mitchell hit the post. But Church hung on to retain the title they last held in 2012.
