AN appeal has been launched by People's Sport in Barnsley.
They want to hear from anyone who can help provide artefacts or memories of taking part in amateur sport in town ahead of the 150th anniversary of the completion of the Shaw Lane site in 1864.
Working in conjunction with Experience Barnsley, the project is planning a number of events this year to map the history of sport in Barnsley and in particular the Shaw Lane site.
The quest for information starts on March 21 and 22 at the Experience Barnsley Museum. Call between 10 am and 4 pm on the Friday or 10am to 1pm on the Saturday.
