A NEW fire station for Barnsley is ‘on the radar’ after fire bosses earmarked reserves of £4.5 million to replace the ageing station within the next few years.
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority met on Monday when members were presented with a report outlining its planned spending programme over the next five years on things such as transport, premises and equipment.
Barnsley Fire Station has been included in the lengthy list for the 2018/19 financial year, with £4.5m earmarked in order to replace the Broadway station.
