A WOMAN given a terminal cancer diagnosis says she has been blown away by the support she’s been given from Barnsley people.

Ann Wood, 59, was only diagnosed with lung cancer last July after visiting hospital for a separate complaint.

Ann, of Derwent Close, Athersley South, has been ill for eight months while undergoing chemotherapy and has been told the cancer is incurable.

Her best friend and neighbour Julie Harrison is doing everything she can to keep her pal in good spirits and is raising money to fulfil some of Ann’s last wishes, such as seeing a show in the West End.

To do this Julie is helping organise a ‘Walk of Honour’ fundraiser at Langsett Reservoir on March 26 for Ann and also for the Weston Park charity. She started to plan the event about seven weeks ago with the help of fellow walkers.

To get involved with the walk search Walk of Honour on Facebook. To donate visit: www.youcaring.com/annewoodwestonpark-750600.
