THE ORGANISER of a meeting about the prospect of fracking in the region hopes it served as an education ahead of the campaign to stop it.

Ann Forsaith, of Frack Free Dearne Valley, said the meeting of about 50 people at Montgomery Hall in Wath last Friday was successful.

“It was about educating people about fracking and the dangers of it.

“We tried to be balanced but I feel the evidence is very clear and it is a danger. I hope people go and talk to other people about fracking because there is a lot of ignorance about it.

“We are going to do our best to stop it and we need to alert all of the local community.”
