A FAMILY bath and body business has pledged to use only 100 per cent recyclable or sustainable materials.

The Pretty Little Treat Co. produces vintage-inspired bath and body products, using natural and locally sourced ingredients ahead of Earth Day on April 22.

The company, based in Darton Road, Cawthorne, switched to environmentally friendly packaging on April 22, using compostable and biodegradable paper tape, potato starch, cellophane bags, packing chips and FSC certified cardboard boxes and paper.

The majority of the firm’s products come in glass jars with aluminium lids and for shower products, where glass is not permitted for safety reasons, the business uses 100 per cent recyclable PET plastic. All elements can be recycled or composed in home recycle bins.

Pretty Little Treat Co. also reuses packing materials sent from their suppliers, to keep waste to an absolute minimum.

Managing director Vicky Woodger, who took over Pretty Little Treats in 2017, has put plans in place to ensure all elements of their products can be recycled or reused, to reduce the amount of waste the company generates.

“We want to build a responsible business that creates products for our customers that we know they are going to love,” said Vicky.

“We’ve listened to our loyal customer base and understand their growing concerns about the sustainability of the products they buy.”
