TV historian Joann Fletcher will be the professional guide to some of Barnsley's hidden treasures.
The Egyptologist will be at Experience Barnsley museum for a nationwide celebration of collections in UK museums and archives.
Visitors will have the chance to discover and handle Roman coin hoards, as well as links to Egypt, from 2pm this afternoon.
The opportunity is limited to 15 people and booking is essential, call 772500.
The group will meet in the reception area of Experience Barnsley.
