A BARNSLEY woman who lobbied parliament for a fairer deal on pensions is urging ladies from the town to join the campaign.
Elaine Newcombe was ‘so proud’ to have taken part in the Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) demonstration outside the Houses of Parliament on Wednesday.
The 63-year-old, of St John’s Road, has never protested, marched, been to London or had cause to contact her MP in her life but felt she had to make her voice heard as part of the campaign.
