A MOTHER who suffered a miscarriage with her first child has praised the charity which supported her - and her husband who is running the London Marathon to help keep it going.

Olivia Briggs and her husband Scott, both 28, were overjoyed to find they were expecting their first baby several months after they got married.

But Olivia suffered a miscarriage in December 2015, and had to have an operation.

Olivia, of Springfields, Redbrook, said: “It was very difficult. As well as that, I had two close friends who were pregnant and I was due first. Their two children came along and I didn’t have mine.

“I went through a whole mix of emotions. You feel useless, and like it is your fault.

“You never think it is going to happen to you. They (the doctors) said it was just one of those things that can happen.”

Throughout her ordeal, Olivia found support from The Miscarriage Association, which is based in Wakefield.
