BARNSLEY MP Stephanie Peacock has supported ‘Small Business Saturday’ by shopping all over the borough.
The annual event, held on the first Saturday of December each year, encourages people to back their local small businesses. Stephanie shopped in the town centre, Grimethorpe and Worsbrough.
“Small local businesses are the lifeblood of a community, particularly in tight knit communities like ours,” she said.
“That’s why I’m a passionate supporter of our local businesses, and it was a pleasure to pop in to Worsbrough Mill for some flour, pick up a lovely Christmas wreath from Grimethorpe, and get my tea from Barnsley Market.”

We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
