AN operation targeting off-road vehicles has taken place in Cudworth.

The Barnsley East Local Policing Team combed the area looking for motorbikes and quads who have been causing a nuisance in the village.

White Cross Road resident Sheila Brightmore, 59, told the Chronicle there's been a steady increase in incidents since the days started getting longer.

She said: "They're pelting around with no helmets on and it's dangerous for everyone, not just them.

"They tend to be young teenagers so not much can be done other than confiscating their vehicles, but I'd like the police to educate them more if they're caught. Everyone was young once but it's becoming more of an issue, especially around Carrs Lane."
