POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two men attempted to rob a Thurnscoe convenience store.

At around 7.10am on Tuesday, police received reports that a masked man armed with a knife threatened staff in A and H Convenience Store on Lorne Road. The man fled in a silver Vauxhall Astra after being confronted by the shopkeeper, before the car collided with a fence on Canberra Rise, Bolton-upon-Dearne and two men were seen running from the scene.

Two other people, a 25-year-old man and 19-year-old woman, both from Worsbrough, have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
