A MOTHER whose nine-year-old daughter died just four days before her birthday is fundraising for a children’s hospice.

Mia Cusworth, who died on September 7, was diagnosed with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) and died just eight days after being diagnosed.

Mum Dawn said she was a ‘happy girl who was always singing and dancing’ and that she had been a fit and healthy girl before she was diagnosed.

To mark the first anniversary of Mia’s death, Dawn and her family are holding a charity ball at Tankersley Manor and are looking for people and businesses to donate prizes to be won.

All proceeds will go towards Bluebell Wood which helped Mia and her family during the last days of her life.

Dawn said: “Bluebell Wood offered us time to come to terms with losing Mia away from our family home.

“The work they do is priceless so we want to raise as much as we can.”

The ball is on September 6.

Dawn has so far sold 170 out of 200 tickets. To buy a ticket or donate a raffle prize please contact Dawn on 07401 770444 and if you would like to donate visit justgiving.com
