Barnsley are hoping to become the first side to beat Luton Town in the league since the Hatters lost at Oakwell ten weeks ago.

Luton are currently in the second of two automatic promotion places, six points clear of the fourth-placed Reds who have a game in hand.

Since losing 3-2 in Barnsley in October, Nathan Jones’ side have won ten and drawn two of their 12 league games. A seven-match winning run ended on Saturday when they drew 2-2 at Walsall, having been 2-0 down.

Barnsley have won all of their last six league games at Kenilworth Road but Luton have won ten and drawn two of their 12 there this season, including seven successive wins. Red head coach Daniel Stendel said: “Luton is the team of the hour. After our first game against them they have not lost, with only a few draws.

"It is a big task for us but we are also in good shape and it will be the best game in the league on that day.”

Brad Potts opened the scoring the last time this two teams met. The midfielder said: “We’re definitely looking forward to it. Luton have been have been on really good form since we beat them at home and we know that, if we beat them, we can get three points closer to them.”
