TRIBUTES have been paid to a well respected Barnsley councillor who has died of a fractured skull after a fall.
Coun Dave Sim, 64, who represented the Dearne North ward for a year, suffered a fatal fall down the stairs at his home in Togo Buildings, Thurnscoe, on May 23.
His wife of 44 years, Teresa, 62, said: "It was a tragic accident. He got up to go get the papers, slipped down the stairs and fractured his skull."
The funeral will be held at St Helen's Church, Thurnscoe at 11.15am on Monday. It will be followed by burial at Bolton cemetery and a wake at The Ship (Thurnscoe WMC), Thurnscoe. Funeral arrangements by Hammerton's of Goldthorpe.
