A CLAMPDOWN against dog fouling will commence after more complaints were reported to police this week.
Although officers can’t prosecute those caught failing to pick up after their pets, the issue has been passed on to Kingdom, the enforcement agency employed by multiple area councils across Barnsley who are responsible for cleaning up streets.
Cath Fairweather, Barnsley Council’s tasking officer, said: “Kingdom officers are looking at hotspot areas and will be patrolling. Out-of-hours patrols will also be carried out as it’s an ongoing problem and a task for all areas.”
