A 78-YEAR-OLD Barnsley man has appeared in court to face a charge of causing death by careless driving.
Ronald Priestley appeared at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court where he was accused of causing the death of pedestrian Jake Storey, of Crookes Street, Barnsley.
The court was told Mr Priestley was driving his Renault Clio along West Way towards Town End on April 11, 2016 when it was in collision with Mr Storey, 21, as he was crossing the road.
