A DEDICATED service has been set up in Barnsley to transform the lives of people who have complex needs and feel ‘written off by society’.

Council bosses gave the go ahead for the new support service last year after a national study showed Barnsley has a higher rate of people experiencing several problems at the same time compared with other local council areas. These problems can be anything from mental ill health, homelessness, drug and alcohol misuse to offending and family breakdown.

A new service to ensure people get the full support they need begins this month run by two organisations.
