A MAN has been charged after a 16-year-old boy was injured at a house in Elsecar.

Police were called just after 6.30pm on June 28 to a property on Welland Crescent where the 16-year-old was found with suspected stab wounds and taken to hospital.

Ryan Tilbury, 25, of Welland Crescent, Elsecar, was charged a section 18 wounding with intent and appeared at Sheffield Magistrates Court on June 30, where he was remanded in custody. He made no plea. He will appear at Sheffield Crown Court on July 27.

A police spokesman said the 16-year-old remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 870 of June 28.
