PROBLEM streets in Goldthorpe will be targeted and cleaned up as part of a revolutionary new scheme.

Six streets have been identified as being areas that have issues with tipping and littering.

Several agencies will lead the clean up and then attempt to build relationships with residents to ensure improvements are kept up.

The roads encountering issues are Frederick Street Albert Road, Poplar Avenue, Princess Road, Wellington Street and Flower Street.

Paul Brannan, head of community services and enforcement for Barnsley Council, said: "It is something we are looking at doing across the borough but Goldthorpe is perhaps the area with the most problems."
