FORMER bikers Kenneth and Betty Hodgson have celebrated their diamond wedding.

They used to travel all over on BSA motorbikes with Betty, now 80, riding on the back. "She was so relaxed about it she used to fall asleep on the way back from the coast," said Kenneth, 89.

He is from Dodworth and met Betty, from Hoyland, in a pub in town during a night out. They got married at Hoyland John Knowles' church and went on to have two daughters Kathleen and Jacqueline, five grandsons and one great-grandson.

Their wedding anniversary was on June 18 and they celebrated with family and friends over a carvery at the Boatman's Rest in Worsbrough.
