ENTRIES are coming in thick and fast for this year’s Proud of Barnsley awards.

We’re being inundated with really heartwarming stories about people looking after each other, looking after their towns and villages, excelling at their chosen passions and hobbies and people who have raised thousands of pounds for charity.

There are 14 categories - and you must know someone who fits the bill.

They are: Young Superstar, School of the Year, Children’s Champion, Carer of the Year, Start-up of the Year, Community Group, Hospital Hero, Community Hero, Triumph Over Adversity, Sporting Achievement, Love Where You Live, Charity Fundraiser, Volunteer of the Year and Exceptional Achievement.

*This year there is an additional category - The Charity Fundraising Team.

Entries are now open, and there are a couple of ways to submit nominations.

You can e-mail your nominations to lynsey.bradford@barnsley-chronicle.co.uk - please include your name, address and phone number.

Please also include the name, address and phone number of the person you are nominating, the category you are nominating them in and why.

Alternatively you can go to www.barnsley-chronicle.co.uk and fill out the online entry form.

Paper copies of the entry form can be picked up in the Barnsley Chronicle reception.

Please ask the person/group for permission to nominate them for an award before putting them forward.
