LOCAL boy Adam Wollerton is directing a new musical which is receiving support from Judi Dench, Ian McKellen and David Cameron.

Grim: A New Musical will premier in July at the 900-seater Rose theatre in Kingston, London.

Adam, who grew up in Sunningdale Avenue, Darton, has been sent notes and letters from Judi Dench, Ian McKellen and 10 Downing Street, all sending "best wishes and good luck".

Adam graduated from West End stage school in 2010 and furthered his education to a masters level in classical theatre.

He said: "It's incredibly humbling and motivating. We are very inspired by their support and this furthers our desire to create a smash hit musical."

Adam set up his own theatre company, the Untold Theatre Company 18 months ago along with Fiona O' Malley and in their first year, created a new musical which premiered at the International Youth Arts Festival.

It then moved to central London to rave four and four and a half star reviews.
