THE author of a new book about the unsolved murder of a Barnsley librarian is hoping it might prompt police to reinvestigate.

‘Justice for Joan, The Arundel Murder’ has been penned by best-selling author Martin Knight, delving deep beneath the headlines of the 68-year-old unsolved murder case of Barnsley woman Joan Woodhouse.

It is a case that has always held the interest of Martin, 58, who is based in Surrey, after reading about it as a teenager in a book.

“Joan Woodhouse was one of the only chapters in the book that was officially unsolved.

“It just stayed with me.”
