MORE people in Barnsley are working than ever before.
The latest data shows that Barnsley’s employment figures are at an all time high and unemployment has fallen.
The number of residents employed in occupations such as managers, directors, senior officials and professional vocations is also increasing.
The rise in employment suggests that local businesses are continuing to grow and this has created more opportunities. There has also been a rapid increase in the number of self-employed people, but this rate is still below national average.
The figures come from Barnsley Council’s 2017-18 performance report for the past three months.
