Residents of a Hoyland sheltered housing scheme found a new four-legged friend in the shape of this cute puppy.

The residents at Fitzwilliam Court raised £285 for Support Dogs and the charity's latest puppy recruit bounced along to say thank you.

Katie Earnshaw, from Fitzwilliam Court, said: "Everyone had a great morning with the Support Dogs puppy.

Residents raised the money for the charity from a New Year's Eve masquerade party. They and staff support many different charities which we hold events for - the  latest is a big coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Trust where we raised more than £500."

Fitzwilliam Court is a sheltered housing scheme owned by  Guinness Care and Support.

On-site staff support service users with varying health needs including physical disabilities and dementia.
