THE plinth in Peel Square and the 'mushroom' in Cheapside will be removed this summer as work begins on the £41m redevelopment of the town centre.
The outdoor market stalls will move into the main precinct ready for Christmas and will remain there for at least three years.
The mushroom canopy and benches, and the stone plinth will go to make way for the temporary stalls.
