BARNSLEY households with spare driveways and parking spaces could be earning hundreds of pounds by renting them out according to the firm behind an online parking space website.
YourParkingSpace.co.uk is an online marketplace that features driveways, private off-street parking spaces, lock-up garages which people can pay an agreed amount to use - usually if they work nearby.
It says it has 15,000 members who earned more than £500 each from their space last year.
But currently it has no spaces available in Barnsley and is looking to recruit some.
A spokesman said residents could earn £895 a year to rent out their drive or parking space.
“There’s a real opportunity to earn a decent amount from a driveway or empty parking space, as many of our customers have been doing near train stations, transport hubs, shopping centres, music and sports venues,” said managing director Harrison Woods.
“Even streets with residential parking restrictions offer property owners the chance to earn extra money.”
