MOTORISTS have been urged to take care on a notorious road in Shafton.

A warning has been issued by Shafton Parish Council about Sandy Bridge Lane after three teenagers aged 15, 17 and 18 sustained injuries in a crash earlier this month when the Peugeot 106 they were travelling in left the road.

Although it’s unclear if the incident was speed-related, chairman Dave North urged motorists to be more cautious on the road.

“We seem to hear about bad accidents every other week and they’re putting both theirs and others’ lives at risk. It’s very much an accident blackspot and so it’s important they are careful.”
